Exaggerated Eyes

Students are able to let loose and create a piece using oil pastels. They are inspired by micro-macro photographs of human eyes. Students use these photographs to create their own exaggerated abstract eye through blending the oil pastels, and amplifying colors.  (9"x12")

Faces of Our Seasons

Students create clay masks showing the seasons of Vermont.  (8"x12")

Self-Portraits

Students have their pictures taken. Next they learn to grid their photograph, and double the grid for their drawing. Students learn about value, and drawing to scale.  (10"x14")

Winding Roots

Students use a black ballpoint pen on white paper to create weaving and interlocking tree roots. They learn to make different values with a ballpoint pen by changing the the texture of their lines, and the distance between each pen stroke.  (9"x12")
